Title:Devote Yourselves To Evangelism - Part 3
Reference:Colossians 4:3-6 Pt.3
Notes:

The Gospel Outline

(These are the main points of the gospel that are important for every Christian to know for evangelism.)

People first need to understand who God is:

1.  He is creator and owner of everything.
     Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
     Psalm 24:1  The earth is the Lord's and all it contains, the world and those who dwell in it.
2.  He is perfectly holy.
     1 Peter 1:16 because it is written, "You shall be holy, for I am holy."
3.  He requires perfect obedience.
     James 2:10  For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.

Next, they need to understand something about themselves:

4.  Everyone has broken God's law.
     Romans 3:10 as it is written, "There is none righteous, not even one;
     Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
5.  The penalty for sin is eternal death.
     Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
6.  Good works and intentions will not save.
     Titus 3:5  He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

Then you tell them who Jesus Christ is:

7.  Jesus is God yet also became a sinless man.
     John 10:30  "I and the Father are one."
     Hebrews 4:15  For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
8.  Jesus died on the cross to provide salvation.
     1 Corinthians 15:3  For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures;
9.  Jesus rose from the grave and is alive today.
     1 Corinthians 15:4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

Lastly, you tell them what they must do:

10.  Ask for God's forgiveness and turn from all that dishonors God (repentance).
     Isaiah 55:7  Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
     Luke 9:23  And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
11.  Turn to Christ and believe in Him as Lord and Savior.
     Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;  10  for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
12.  Call them to rependance:  "Will you repent and believe in Christ for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life or remain under His wrath and suffer the consequences of hell?"
     Acts 17:30  "Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent
