Vacation time!

I take off early Monday morning for British Columbia because my niece Amy C. is getting married this next weekend.  Since I´ll be further north, it seemed like perfect timing to head to Happy Camp for peach season.  Um-m-m-m!  Luscious bend-over peaches, so-called because you have to bend over to keep the juice off your clothing.  Then I´ll stay put until Dad´s 84th birthday on Aug. 7th.  So, I plan to be back home on August 10th.

I´m looking forward to meeting Casey, my niece´s husband-to-be.  I also anticipate enjoying the time off, time with family and friends, rest and a huge change of scenery.  There´s no comparison between a quiet country scene and hectic city traffic with more than 5 million people, enjoying a forest, a cabin on Puget Sound, a river in my folk´s backyard and so on versus buildings, buildings, and more buildings.

Raquel M. is progressing well at home and continues to be infection free, as far as we know.  Juan B. recently understood the Gospel and made a profession of faith.  Jan D. is recovering from her ear surgery, but continues to fight recurring infections.  Ale B., daughter of Juan & Alejandra, is continuing to attend family group and Sunday services.  Her brother Juan Jr. isn´t interested.

The two family groups with Paty R. & Blanca P. are growing.  Just ten days ago there was a total attendance of 22 adults and 5 children in the two groups.  This last Friday night we met here at my house and there were  17 adults and 4 children as well as some who missed because of illness.

The fifth lesson is written for the new discipleship series and the sixth one started.  I have found self-discipline difficult these past months.  So, I am also behind in answering my e-mails.

PRAY:

  • For the salvation of Alejandra, Ale, Lola, Francisco, Gaby 2, Mariana, Marichuy, Xavier, Paty G., Marta, Paola, & Belén who have all attended at least one family group.
  • That new people would start the Basic Bible study and understand salvation more clearly.
  • For wisdom as Faustino, Felipe, Paty & Blanca look for a place to rent for the church to meet.
  • For safety on this trip and enjoyment of the time with family and friends.
  • For a willingness on the part of all believers to commit themselves wholeheartedly to Christ and His Body of believers, particularly Juan Carlos & Socorro
  • For self-discipline rather than unprofitable activities.

PRAISE:

  • For Elba S, who apparently has accepted Christ as her Savior.  I was able to chat with her a couple of weeks ago.  She is now studying the next discipleship series with Letty as her human guide.
  • For my good health and enjoyment of the work here in Guadalajara.  We are seeing growth in several of the believers, particularly Paty & Blanca.
  • For the chance to take some vacation days with family.
  • For YOU---the vital prayer support link for the ministry here---family and friends in several states, provinces and countries.

Thanks for your interest in the Lord´s work here in Guadalajara.  Do write when you can.  I appreciate  your prayer and financial support.

Pray that we would faithfully share the Gospel,
