FOCUS FROM FAYE

Under pressure!

Raquel M. is hospitalized again because she fell and broke her good leg late last week.  She´s scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning.  Juan and Alejandra B. are facing the pressure of many negative things happening and the disapproval of some family members.  Jan D. continues to face multiple, differing health issues, including probable ear surgery soon.  Ale B., daughter of Alejandra, is choosing to obey her parents and needs to stand firm with a recent decision she made.

Paty R. & Blanca P. are working to lead the two new family groups.  They have the pressure of leading their groups by themselves after four years of working together. The attendance is growing.  Last Friday evening these two groups were together and there were 15 adults and 4 children.

The baptism went well with five obeying the Lord´s command.  Juan Carlos was told by a relative that he was committing spiritual bigamy!  The location that God provided was lovely, but the mosquitoes were hungry by 5:00 p.m.

Paty, Blanca and I are concerned because of the double-mindedness seen in several people: materialism vs. true commitment; worry, fears & emotional instability vs. trust; unwillingness of a wife to allow her husband to lead; distrust of God and His sufficiency for the future; etc.

The fourth lesson is written for the new discipleship series.  I also have the basic layout and general outline done for all the lessons as well as clipart and a memory verse for each one.  The time with my coworkers´ two teenage daughters went well.  I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to contact Lety´s sister Elba in Illinois to see how well she understood the need for accepting Christ as her Savior.  I continue to struggle at times with self-discipline.

PRAY:

  • For the salvation of Juan, Alejandra, Ale, Lola, Francisco, Gaby 2, Mariana, Marichuy, Xavier, Paty G., Marta, Paola, & Belén who have all attended at least one family group.
  • That Satan would not be able to sidetrack those who are doing the Basic Study.
  • For wisdom as we look for a new location for the church to meet.
  • For wisdom, clarity and simplicity in developing the third set of discipleship lessons.

PRAISE:

  • For you who faithfully pray for the work here in Guadalajara and for us as a mission team.
  • For the smooth transition of the multiplication into two family groups and that Paty is fairly well settled in her apartment.
  • For Raquel´s cheerful spirit and thanksgiving for being by a window, for the beautiful sunset and so on.

Thanks so much for your interest in the work here in Guadalajara.  I appreciate healing from you and am deeply gratefully for your prayer and financial support of this ministry.

Praising the Lord that the pressure brings growth,
