FOCUS FROM FAYE May 15, 2010
Challenge is the key word this time!
Paty R., co-leader of the Independence family group, is moving this weekend after being in the same house for more than 30 years. She´s challenged to fit everything into the new location: a three bedroom apartment about 12 blocks away. She has had help from her family and some of us from the church.
I´ll be spending the next 12 days with Gaby & Lea J. while Larry & Marbi are in the U.S. and Canada. So, I face the challenge of packing yet and trying to plan well for the various activities, meals and times together. One of the responsibilities is driving the girls to school at 7:15 each morning and picking them up about 2:45 p.m.
We are still on track to multiply the Independence family group on May 28th, a challenge of another type. As I made the announcement of the members of each new group, most everyone seemed to be in agreement with the decision. Hopefully, everyone will be settled in by the time I take off to Amy´s (my niece) wedding in July.
Raquel M. continues to recover well and there´s no sign of any infection! She still faces the challenge of another six weeks before start rehabilitation and putting weight on the bad leg. Continue to pray for her encouragement and for her husband Heriberto´s salvation.
June 6th has been set for the next baptism. We are hoping and praying that God will work in hearts, convincing several of their need to be baptized. It´s a challenge for them since they were baptized as infants and don´t want to be disloyal to their parents. We are also planning to move our Sunday group into a rented house in July, so we´re looking for something with a large combined living room & dining room area.
Edgar A. celebrates his 15th birthday on Monday. That´s an important birthday here in Mexico and I´ll be joining some of his family for a meal, cake and gifts at the south end of the city, a 40 min. drive from Janzen’s home. He´s facing the challenge of becoming a man of God.
I have three lessons written for the next discipleship series, one of them taken from material that we were using previously. Sami V. spent some extra time on proofreading and helping me decide the best order for the planned lessons. Wouldn´t you know it!! My computer failed shortly after I started this project. I was very gratefully that Ev D., a coworker, was able to get it up and running again for me! Of course, there´s the challenge of another seven lessons.
PRAY:
PRAISE:
May God bless and encourage you as you have blessed and encouraged me. Your e-mails, prayers and financial support are all ways that the Lord uses to encourage me, to remind me that you care and that you are praying for the ministry here in Guadalajara.
Praising the Lord for the signs of spiritual growth,
Faye Prindle
